About the Directorate of Research

The Directorate of Research at Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) is committed to strengthening research and innovation across medical, paramedical, pharmaceutical, and allied sciences and technology. The Directorate facilitates students, researchers, and faculty through a structured, interdisciplinary approach aimed at enhancing research quality and outcomes for societal benefit.
The university hosts several dedicated research units under the Directorate, including

- Hon’ble Late Shree Jayawantrao Bhosale Innovation and Incubation Centre (JBIIC)
- Centre for Research Innovation and Commercialization (CRIC)—a joint initiative of KVV and the SPPU–Research Park Foundation, Pune.
- Specialized research laboratories.

These centres function as hubs for advanced fundamental and translational research in medicine, dentistry, physiotherapy, nursing, paramedical sciences, pharmaceuticals, and allied technologies. Supported by national and international collaborations and strong linkages with industry, healthcare institutions, and end-users, the Directorate plays a pivotal role in developing innovative solutions to address real-world healthcare challenges.

Thrust Areas of Research

Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth (KVV) is supported by robust research infrastructure, including a NABL-accredited diagnostic center, Molecular Biology and Genetics Laboratory, Lead Referral Laboratory, Toxicology Laboratory, Cancer Research Institute, academic institutes offering over 70 programs, and a 1240-bedded teaching hospital—all actively contributing to research and innovation.
With more than three decades of experience, KVV has been engaged in fundamental, applied, and translational research across diverse healthcare domains.

The University has developed a comprehensive research infrastructure comprising a Central Facility, Centre of Excellence, Molecular Biology and Genetic Laboratory, Lead Referral Laboratory, and Virology Laboratory. These facilities provide shared access to advanced equipment, support high-end molecular and genetic research, enable quality-assured diagnostics, and facilitate virology research in compliance with biosafety standards, collectively strengthening interdisciplinary research, innovation, and healthcare-focused scientific outcomes.

The Hon’ble Shree Jayawantrao Bhosale Innovation and Incubation Center (JBIIC) is an interdisciplinary hub designed to nurture and support innovative ideas in the fields of medicine and allied sciences. The Centre provides a safe and enabling ecosystem for individual researchers and collaborative teams across medicine, allied sciences, engineering, and technology.

JBIIC promotes a strong culture of innovation by facilitating the ideation, development, testing, and validation of research concepts, leading to prototype creation and technology development. By bridging academia with industry and end-users, the Centre plays a vital role in translating research outcomes into practical healthcare solutions and driving growth within the healthcare sector.
