About the Department

The Department of Pharmacology has 6 qualified faculty members (MD/Ph.D. in Pharmacology). Pharmacology, the science of drugs, is taught in Phase II of MBBS, BDS, BPTh courses. The department also trains Ph.D. Pharmacology, B.Sc. Perfusion, and B.Sc. Cardiac students.

HOD & Professor

Dr. Vandana Milind Thorat

Dr. Vandana Milind Thorat has been the Head of the Department of Pharmacology since 1st December 2022. She brings 30 years of teaching experience and is a university-recognized UG & PG teacher, examiner, and guide for MD and PhD students. She completed her MBBS, MD, and PhD (Pharmacology) from Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Karad.
Throughout her career, she has received the Best Teacher award multiple times. She strongly believes in and supports the use of advanced technologies in teaching. Dr. Thorat has published over 60 national and international publications in the field of Medicine. She actively promotes the overall development of staff and students by encouraging both curricular and extracurricular activities.
