PG Diploma in Breastfeeding Counseling

The PG Diploma in Breastfeeding Counseling is a one-year program designed to train nursing graduates in breastfeeding support, counseling skills, and lactation management. Students learn to guide, support, and empower postnatal mothers with evidence-based techniques to ensure successful breastfeeding outcomes.

Overview

The Postgraduate Diploma in Breastfeeding Counseling prepares registered nurses with the specialized knowledge and communication skills needed to counsel lactating mothers. This program emphasizes hands-on training in breastfeeding techniques, management of feeding issues, kangaroo mother care (KMC), and neonatal support. Students develop critical listening and counseling abilities to assist mothers in overcoming challenges such as latch problems, milk expression, and infant feeding complications. Clinical training is provided in labor rooms, postnatal wards, NICUs, and pediatric departments to ensure real-world experience.
