The Department of Ophthalmology is committed to advancing excellence in eye care, education, and research. It focuses on developing skilled and ethical ophthalmologists through modern teaching methods, hands-on clinical training, and continuous knowledge enhancement. The department actively adopts new technologies in diagnosis and treatment while encouraging faculty and students to engage in research and innovation. HOD & Professor

Dr. Vijay Hari Karambelkar

Dr. V.H. Karambelkar has been leading the Department of Ophthalmology since 2018. He completed his M.B.B.S. (1982) and M.S. Ophthalmology (1986) from Dr. V.M.M.C., Solapur and has 24 years of teaching experience, serving as a recognized PG teacher since 2007. He has been an UG and PG examiner for 15 years, a PG paper assessor, and a guest speaker at medical institutes nationwide. A respected educator, he has received the “Favourite Teacher” award five times and has been providing free ophthalmology services at Chaitanya Rugnalay, Gondawale, for 25 years. He has also published 35 research articles in indexed journals.
