About the Department

Established in 1982, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology has been at the forefront of women’s healthcare and medical education. With a steadily growing clinical workload, the department provides expert care in pregnancy, childbirth, and reproductive health. At the same time, it offers students comprehensive academic training, hands-on clinical exposure, and research opportunities under the guidance of highly qualified and experienced faculty.

HOD & Professor

Dr. Rajkumar Pandurang Patange

Dr. R. P. Patange has been heading the department since 2007. He completed his MBBS (1982) and M.D. in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (1986) from Government Medical College, Miraj, and has been serving in the department since 1986. Starting as an Assistant Professor, he was promoted to Professor & Head in 2007, contributing significantly to its growth and development. With 45 research publications, Dr. Patange also serves as Chairperson of the Board of Studies, member of the Academic Council, Ph.D. supervisor, and examiner for undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various universities. Admired for his humble and polite nature, he remains a respected and popular teacher among students and staff.
