About the Department

The Neuro-department maintains an exemplary record of panoramic patient care, analytical teaching, and student training with a strong commitment to research. The department is dedicated to improving the functional abilities of patients with impairments caused by neurological conditions.
The Department of Neurophysiotherapy is actively involved in clinical care using conventional and neurophysiological approaches for patient betterment. Advanced skills such as Bobath Therapy, Brainstorm Approach, Rood’s Approach, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), Motor Relearning Program (MRP), Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT), and Virtual Reality are regularly practiced.
Conventional methods including passive movements, functional re-education exercises, MAT exercises, balance training, Frenkel’s exercises, gait training, massage therapy, mobility training, and strength training are carried out daily.

HOD & Professor

Dr. Suraj B. Kanase

Dr. Suraj B. Kanase has 12.9 years of professional experience. He completed his graduation from MUHS, Nashik, and post-graduation from Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Karad. He is an Executive Committee Member of the Maharashtra State Indian Association of Physiotherapists.
He has 79 indexed publications, 4 copyrights, and has guided 40+ UG and 10 PG students. He has received multiple awards from reputed journals and completed Multiple Sclerosis training from the Menzies Institute of Medical Research, University of Tasmania. He is also the author of “Task Related Training for Hemiplegic Gait in Stroke Survivors” (ISBN-10: 3659818224).
