M.D. Anesthesiology
M.D. Anesthesiology is a specialized postgraduate program that trains doctors in the science and practice of anesthesia, critical care, pain management, and resuscitation. The course prepares students to manage perioperative care and life-threatening emergencies across diverse surgical specialties.
Overview
The program provides in-depth training in general and regional anesthesia techniques, intensive care medicine, trauma management, pain relief procedures, and resuscitative methods. Through clinical rotations, simulations, and research exposure, students gain the knowledge and skills to work as anesthesiologists in operation theatres, ICUs, emergency departments, and pain clinics.

- Eligibility Criteria:
- Must possess a recognized MBBS degree or equivalent qualification.
- Should have completed a one-year rotating internship post-MBBS.
- Must be registered with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or any State Medical Council, or obtain registration within one month of admission.
- Admission is based on merit through NEET-PG, with a minimum 50 percentile or as per Government of India norms.
- Must be eligible to work as a full-time resident student throughout the course duration.
- Candidates with a recognized two-year postgraduate diploma in Anesthesiology may be eligible for a one-year reduction in course duration.
