The inception of this institution is rooted in the visionary leadership and relentless efforts of our Founder, Hon’ble Late Shree Jaywantraoji Bhosale, and Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Suresh Bhosale. The Physiotherapy College began with the approval of the Indian Association of Physiotherapists in 2006. Their mission was to establish a model physiotherapy institution that would elevate physiotherapy education and effectively serve the healthcare needs of the region.
Physiotherapy is a scientific discipline aimed at accelerating patient recovery after illness or injury, while restoring and maintaining physical function. It plays a vital role across all age groups and specialties of medicine.
The college boasts state-of-the-art infrastructure, supporting 100 Undergraduate and 36 Postgraduate admissions across 10 Postgraduate Specialties. With advanced electrical equipment, modern facilities, and a team of 33 experienced faculty members, the institution has grown into one of notable repute. We have well-equipped lecture halls with contemporary teaching amenities. Regular Continuing Education Programs (CEPs) are conducted to keep students and faculty updated with advances in physiotherapy.
The college is committed to addressing community physiotherapy needs while offering high-quality education and comprehensive hands-on training. During the 4-year Undergraduate program, students receive instruction on basic body structures and organ functions, diseases, recovery, and rehabilitation. The curriculum covers anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, pharmacology, neurology, cardiology, general medicine, surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, and sports medicine.
Students gain extensive clinical exposure, examining and treating a large number of patients, which enhances their expertise and confidence for future independent practice. They are trained in various assessment methods, diagnostic procedures, and both conventional and advanced physiotherapy interventions. These include passive and active exercises, manual therapy techniques such as Maitland, McKenzie, and MET, neurophysiological techniques like Bobath/NDT, PNF, Rood’s, MRP, Brainstorm Movement Therapy, and advanced tools such as EMG Biofeedback.
Physiotherapists emerging from this institution are highly skilled professionals, equipped to practice independently with competence and confidence.
