As part of World Breastfeeding Week (August 1–7), the Department of Pediatrics, Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (Deemed to be University), Karad, organized a Breastfeeding Awareness Programme on 4th August 2025 for antenatal and postnatal mothers and their families.

The event featured an introductory address by Dr. Yugantara Kadam, Dean, and Dr. Anil Bhoi, Head of Pediatrics, along with faculty members, highlighting the importance of exclusive breastfeeding.

Event Highlights:

• Skit by residents and interns on breastfeeding awareness.
• Guest talk by Dr. Gauri Shinde (Gynecologist) on antenatal preparation.
• Live demonstration of breastfeeding techniques by NICU nurse Mrs. Vidhya Patil.
• Talk by Dr. Shivani Bhosale on breastfeeding benefits.
• Interactive Q&A session addressing participants’ queries.

The initiative successfully promoted awareness and support for optimal breastfeeding practices.
