KIMS-Poster Competition on World No Tobacco Day 2025

A poster competition for postgraduate medical students was organized on 17th June 2025 to mark the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, based on the theme “Unmask the Appeal.” The event received an overwhelming response, with 23 participants from the Departments of ENT, Psychiatry, Community Medicine, and Pathology showcasing their creative entries.

In addition to the student submissions, the event also featured four non-competitive posters submitted by faculty members and interns, along with a video reel prepared by interns posted in the Department of Community Medicine.

The competition was held at the foyer of Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) and was inaugurated by Dr. Yugantara Kadam, Dean, KIMS. The posters were judged by Dr. Supriya Patil, Academic Dean, and Dr. Sujata Kanetkar, Professor and Head, Department of Pathology.

The event was graced by several esteemed faculty members, including:

* Dr. Abhay Havle, Professor and Head, Department of ENT

* Dr Vasundhara Ghorpade, Professor and Head, Department of Community Medicine

* Dr. Sujata Patil, Associate Professor, Community Medicine and In-charge, Tobacco Cessation Center

* Dr. Swapna Shedge, Associate Professor, Department of Anatomy

* Dr. Sweta Colvin, Assistant Professor, ENT and Event Coordinator

* Dr. Ajish Mangot, Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry

* Dr. Shailaja Patil (PhD), Clinical Psychologist, Department of Psychiatry

We hope this competition served as a platform to raise awareness and engage our student community in the movement against tobacco use.
