Fellowship in Vitreo-Retinal surgery

The Fellowship in Vitreo-Retinal Surgery is a 2-year program designed to provide ophthalmologists with advanced clinical skills and surgical training in the diagnosis and management of retinal disorders. Fellows gain hands-on experience in procedures such as LASERs, intravitreal injections, and vitrectomies, guided by experienced specialists.

Overview

This fellowship program addresses the rising demand for retinal specialists due to increasing incidences of diabetes-related retinopathy, cardiovascular issues, ocular trauma, and ROP. Conducted at KIMS, Karad, under the mentorship of three senior vitreo-retinal surgeons, the program combines outpatient observation, procedural training, and supervised surgeries to develop confident and competent retinal surgeons. The final six months are dedicated to Senior Residency responsibilities, allowing fellows to manage patients independently.
