This one-year fellowship is designed for radiology postgraduates to gain in-depth knowledge and hands-on training in vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures. It equips fellows with the clinical and procedural skills needed to assist in advanced image-guided therapeutic treatments.

Overview

The Fellowship in Vascular & Interventional Radiology at Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences is structured to provide comprehensive training in minimally invasive image-guided procedures. With growing demand for interventional radiologists in clinical practice, this program bridges the gap between diagnostic radiology and therapeutic interventions. Fellows gain clinical exposure, perform hands-on procedures, attend multidisciplinary rounds, and develop skills in patient care, ethics, and procedural safety. The curriculum integrates theoretical learning, real-time clinical experience, and research methodology to ensure professional excellence in vascular and interventional radiology.

To train radiologists in safe, advanced vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures through ethical, evidence-based, and minimally invasive image-guided techniques.

Understand how X-rays interact with matter to create diagnostic images.

Learn principles and applications of digital subtraction angiography (DSA).

Identify radiation hazards and implement protective strategies.

Know normal and variant vascular anatomy and their clinical impact.

Understand embryological changes linked to congenital anomalies.

Explain DSA’s role in perioperative care.

Assess imaging techniques used in therapeutic interventions.

Stay updated with recent developments in interventional sciences.

Organize and supervise interventional procedures with quality assurance.
