Fellowship in Spine
This one-year fellowship in Spine Surgery offers advanced training for orthopedic postgraduates to develop skills in diagnosing and treating spinal disorders. The program covers hands-on exposure to surgical techniques for spine trauma, deformities, degenerative conditions, and tumors. Fellows will also gain experience with minimally invasive procedures, spinal instrumentation, and rehabilitation protocols under expert guidance.
Overview
The Fellowship in Spine is a structured 12-month program focused on enhancing clinical and surgical skills in spinal care. It includes in-depth training in managing cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine pathologies. Fellows will participate in outpatient clinics, ward rounds, operation theaters, and seminars, and will be encouraged to engage in clinical research. With exposure to over 500 spine cases annually and experienced faculty, this fellowship prepares candidates for independent spine practice.
To train orthopedic surgeons in the safe and advanced management of spinal disorders through evidence-based practices, minimally invasive techniques, and ethical surgical care.
To assess patients with spinal conditions and decide on conservative or surgical treatment
To gain wide exposure to most spinal pathologies
To receive hands-on surgical training under supervision
To perform basic spine procedures such as nerve root block, microdiscectomy, microdecompression, vertebroplasty, and pedicle screw instrumentation
