Dr. Prashant Ashok Punde, Associate Professor, Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, School of Dental Sciences, has been honoured with the Best Story Writer’s Award in the International Marathi Story Writing Competition organized by Ank Ninad, Detroit, Michigan, USA.

Dr. Punde’s short story “Mammon” was selected from numerous international entries and evaluated by renowned Marathi authors. Notably, in 2023, his short story “Lekhakayan” also won the Best Story Award in the same competition.

For both years, Dr. Punde has been awarded the First Prize along with a cash reward of 100 USD by Ank Ninad, Detroit, Michigan, USA.

“Lekhakayan” was published in the Diwali Edition of Ank Ninad in October 2023, while “Mammon” will appear in the forthcoming Diwali Edition of Ank Ninad in October 2024, published by Rohan Publications, Pune.

Dr. Prashant Punde, originally from Pune, has been serving in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, School of Dental Sciences, for the past 13 years, contributing immensely to academics and clinical excellence.
