The Department of Public Health Dentistry, School of Dental Sciences, Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth, achieved a significant milestone by receiving the “Dr. Kedar N. Rustagi Award for Community and Humanitarian Services – 2024” on 23rd February 2025. The award was conferred by the International College of Dentistry and was presented at SRM University.

The award was received by Dr. Shivakumar K. M., Professor and Head, Department of Public Health Dentistry, Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth, Karad.

Basis for Selection

The Department was selected in recognition of its outstanding achievements in community and humanitarian services, particularly for its dedicated efforts toward the poor, needy, and underprivileged populations in and around Karad and Satara district.

The Department of Public Health Dentistry has:

• Conducted more than 5,000 dental camps across rural areas of Satara district, Maharashtra
• Screened over 3 lakh people for various oral and dental diseases
