Krishna Institute of Science and Technology,
under Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth, has achieved a significant research milestone with Dr. Amar Mohite, Assistant Professor, securing a prestigious ICMR IIRPGS Extramural Research Grant 2025 worth ₹1.78 Crore from the Indian Council of Medical Research.
About the Research Project
The sanctioned research project is titled:
“Cavitand-Based Cationic Supramolecular Systems for Targeted Biofilm Disruption and Antimicrobial Resistance Mitigation.”
The project aims to address one of the most critical global healthcare challenges—antimicrobial resistance (AMR)—by developing advanced supramolecular strategies for effective biofilm disruption, thereby contributing to innovative solutions against drug-resistant infections.
Research Team
- Principal Investigator: Dr. Amar Mohite
- Co-Principal Investigators:
- Dr. Jayant Pawar
- Dr. Kailas Datkhile
The interdisciplinary research team will focus on novel molecular and supramolecular approaches to combat persistent biofilms that play a major role in antimicrobial resistance.
