About the Department

The Department of Anatomy is a key preclinical department, playing a crucial role in medical education. It encompasses the main sub-specialties of Gross Anatomy, Histology, Embryology, and Cytogenetics, providing comprehensive knowledge to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The department is actively engaged in research activities and runs PhD programs, contributing to academic advancement in the field. It is supported by adequate faculty in accordance with the guidelines of the National Medical Commission (NMC), ensuring high-quality teaching and training for medical students.

Dr. Manoj Premanand Ambali

Dr. Manoj P. Ambali (MBBS, MS, PhD Human Anatomy) is Professor and Head of Anatomy since November 2023, with over 30 years of teaching experience. He earned his MBBS from J. N. Medical College, Belgaum, MS from Shivaji University, Kolhapur, and PhD from KIMS, Karad. Joining as a tutor in 1993, he steadily rose to Head of Department. He has served in various exam roles, is University Convenor of NAAC Criterion V, and Director of Student Welfare at KVVU. He actively contributes to NMC, NAAC, and UGC inspections, and is Chairman/Member of several academic committees. Dr. Ambali has 40+ national and international publications, is a life member of five anatomy journals, examiner for UG, PG, and PhD programs, and recipient of the Best Teacher Award. His hobbies include badminton, cricket, and football.
