About the Department

Krishna Institute of Allied Sciences was established in 2007 under Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences “Deemed to be University,” Karad. The institute currently offers M.Sc. Biotechnology, M.Sc. Microbiology, M.Sc. Pharmaceutical Microbiology, M.Sc. Environmental Science, B.Sc. Microbiology, B.Sc. Biotechnology, PG Diploma programs (Fermentation Technology, Food Processing & Preservation Technology), and Ph.D. programs.
With an emphasis on modern, developing, and applied aspects of Life Sciences, the institute follows a strong multidisciplinary approach. This helps shape student careers in accordance with regional and national needs while aligning with the guidelines of NEP-2020. A Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) has been introduced across all programs, ensuring students are exposed to a broader range of courses.
The institute provides a highly conducive learning environment that supports excellent placements in research and academic institutions. It also has several MoUs with academic bodies and industries, promoting collaborative activities and strengthening research and training opportunities.
