Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Karad—formerly KIMS—is a NAAC A+ accredited institution with a 57-acre eco-friendly campus in Western Maharashtra. A leader in medical and allied education, cutting-edge research, and compassionate healthcare, KVV is rooted in vision and driven by innovation—empowering minds and healing lives.
With the aim of educating farmers’ children, Shri Bhosale established this trust, initially supporting 360 students. This marked the beginning of his journey in transforming rural education by making quality learning accessible to underprivileged communities.
KCT was formed to provide affordable and accessible healthcare to the underserved rural population. This trust later became the backbone of several educational and medical initiatives in the region.
Commissioned with 200 beds, the hospital offered advanced diagnostic and treatment facilities. It was instrumental in delivering tertiary healthcare services to rural patients and served as a base for medical training.
KIMS was established under Maharashtra’s liberal education policy to train future medical professionals. It gained recognition for academic excellence, research output, and commitment to rural healthcare.
Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences achieved Deemed University status (KIMSDU), allowing academic autonomy and greater focus on research, curriculum innovation, and interdisciplinary learning.
The institution expanded into dental education with the establishment of the School of Dental Sciences, offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs approved by
the Dental Council of India.
Dr. Suresh Bhosale took charge as Chairman and Managing Trustee of KCT. Under his leadership, the institution witnessed rapid expansion in infrastructure, academic programs, research initiatives, and collaborations.
The pharmacy institute began with an intake of 60 students, which increased to 100 within two years. It aims to nurture pharmacists with strong scientific foundations and ethical values.
During the global pandemic, KVV played a critical role by setting up a dedicated COVID hospital, treating over 8,000 patients, and conducting 47,731 RT-PCR tests. The institution demonstrated its strong public health commitment.
Addressing growing ecological concerns, KVV introduced B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. programs in Environmental Sciences to develop skilled professionals and researchers in the field of sustainability and conservation.
Formerly KIMSDU, Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth is a multidisciplinary Deemed University offering programs in medicine, dentistry, nursing, physiotherapy, pharmacy, environmental, and allied health sciences, with a focus on academic excellence and societal impact.
