Krishna Institute of Nursing Sciences (KINS), Karad organised an Alumni Guest Lecture on the topic “Career Guidance for Abroad (Denmark)” for 4th Semester B.Sc. Nursing students on 27th May 2025. The session was conducted by Ms. Lincy Thomas, Senior Staff Nurse at Wockhardt Hospitals, Mumbai, and a distinguished alumna of the institute. A total of 50 students actively participated in the programme.

Ms. Lincy Thomas commenced the session by expressing her happiness in reconnecting with her alma mater. She shared her inspiring professional journey—from being a student at Krishna Institute of Nursing Sciences to securing a reputable position at Wockhardt Hospitals, Mumbai, and progressing towards a professional opportunity in Denmark. She acknowledged the strong academic foundation, quality clinical exposure, and continuous guidance provided by the faculty at KINS as key contributors to her career growth.

The core of the lecture focused on career opportunities for nurses in Denmark. Ms. Thomas elaborated on essential prerequisites, including possession of a recognised nursing qualification, authorization from the Danish Health Authority, proficiency in the Danish language, and, for non-EU/EEA applicants, obtaining a valid work permit. She also provided valuable practical insights into examination patterns, subject-wise weightage, and the credential verification process, offering students a clear and structured roadmap to pursue nursing careers abroad.

The session was highly informative, practical, and motivating. Students expressed that it significantly enhanced their understanding of global nursing career pathways, particularly in Denmark, and encouraged them to explore both national and international professional opportunities.

Dr. (Mrs.) Vaishali R. Mohite, Dean of the Institute, appreciated Ms. Lincy Thomas for delivering an insightful and engaging session. She emphasized the importance of academic excellence, strategic preparation for international competitive examinations, and pursuing higher education for sustained career advancement.
