KIP: One-Day Workshop on “Network Pharmacology: Unfolding Multitude of Drug Targets”

The Krishna Institute of Pharmacy, Karad, organized a One-Day Workshop on “Network Pharmacology: Unfolding Multitude of Drug Targets” on 20th January 2025, designed for faculty members, postgraduate, and Ph.D. scholars.

The workshop was convened by Dr. N. R. Jadhav, Dean, and coordinated by Mr. Shivsharan Dhadde, Assistant Professor.
Dr. Sanjay R. Ugare (Assistant Professor, KLE’s College of Pharmacy, Belagavi) served as the resource person.
The event also welcomed Prof. Kakasabeb Kore as Guest of Honour.

The inaugural session began with a welcome by Dr. Anuradha N. Chivate.
In his address, Dr. Jadhav highlighted the growing importance of network pharmacology and its potential applications in Ayurveda, Homeopathy, and traditional medicine systems.

Participants gained insights into:

  • Principles of network pharmacology
  • Biological networks and drug–target interactions
  • Databases and tools such as Cytoscape and STRING
  • Hands-on training in network analysis and drug repurposing applications

Sessions included both theoretical discussions and practical demonstrations, conducted at KIP and the Central Library Computer Lab.

The workshop received excellent feedback, with participants appreciating the clarity, relevance, and hands-on exposure.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Pratiksha Jadhav, acknowledging the support of university leadership and the efforts of all contributors.

The workshop reinforced KIP’s commitment to advancing pharmaceutical research through interdisciplinary learning and emerging technologies.
