About the Department

The Department of Oncologic Physiotherapy is a specialized division dedicated to providing comprehensive Physiotherapy care for individuals undergoing cancer treatment. Oncology, a specialized branch of medicine, focuses on the study, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer — a condition where abnormal cells grow uncontrollably, forming neoplasms or tumors that multiply faster than surrounding healthy tissue.
Recognizing the unique physical and emotional needs of cancer patients, the department aims to enhance their physical well-being, functional independence, and overall quality of life throughout the cancer journey. Oncologic Physiotherapy utilizes evidence-based interventions to address impairments and limitations caused by cancer and its treatments, with a focus on optimizing physical function, reducing treatment-related side effects, managing pain, and improving both physical and psychological wellness.

HOD & Professor

Dr. Shraddha Vidyadhar Naik

Dr. Trupti Saurabh Yadav is an Associate Professor with a Gold Medal in her Bachelor’s from MUHS, Nashik, and a second rank in her Master’s from KIMS, Karad. She has 9.3 years of academic and 2 years of clinical experience.
She serves as the District Coordinator for the IAP Women’s Cell, Satara, and has 50+ publications. With a strong interest in IPR, she has 1 published patent, 3 filed patents, 5 copyrights, and 1 design patent. She received the Innovation Award at the International Conference of Physical Therapy, Mumbai (28–29 January 2023).
