About the Department

The Krishna Institute of Nursing Sciences (Faculty of Nursing Sciences) has evolved as a center of excellence in nursing education and clinical training. Nursing, once undefined and unorganized until the 19th century, found its foundation through the vision and dedication of Florence Nightingale, who transformed it into a respected and purposeful profession.

Today, nurses play an integral role in healthcare delivery with advanced specializations such as critical care, neonatal and child health, cardiac care, burns, oncology, urology, and operation theatre nursing. Alongside specialized roles, their traditional mission—caring for the sick, injured, and disabled while promoting health and preventing illness—continues to hold greater importance.
