About the Department

The department is actively involved in research and training medical students. Students are trained in legal formalities to follow during patient treatment, assisting the judiciary through proper medicolegal procedures, courtroom conduct, handling treatment and medicolegal issues in poisoning cases, and performing post-mortem examinations. Research activities also contribute to the advancement of the subject.

    Dr. Chandrakant Mahalingappa Kokatanur

    Dr. Chandrakant M. Kokatanur has been serving as Professor and Head since 1st July 2022. He has a strong interest in research, with 21 publications in national and international journals. With 14 years of experience in undergraduate teaching, he has also secured 31 copyrights in the field of Forensic Medicine.
