Fellowship in Diabetology
The Fellowship in Diabetology is a one-year program designed to train physicians in the comprehensive management of diabetes and its related metabolic disorders. It equips doctors with clinical, procedural, and communication skills to provide effective patient care and address the growing burden of diabetes in the community.
Overview
This fellowship integrates academic learning, clinical practice, and research to prepare physicians for specialized care in diabetology. Trainees gain expertise in physiology, diagnosis, nutrition, exercise therapy, insulin management, and long-term complications such as neuropathy, retinopathy, and cardiovascular risks. The program emphasizes holistic care, including lifestyle counseling, foot care, emergency management, and interdisciplinary training across surgery, cardiology, ophthalmology, nephrology, and neurology. Graduates are prepared to deliver evidence-based diabetes care and contribute to preventive strategies at both hospital and community levels.
By the end of the fellowship, candidates will be able to:
Prepare medical graduates with the necessary knowledge, skills, and competencies.
