Fellowship in Urologic Oncology

The Fellowship in Urologic Oncology is a one-year advanced program focusing on the evaluation, research, and treatment of genitourinary cancers. It provides hands-on training in both minimally invasive and open surgical procedures, with exposure to chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and reconstructive urology, preparing specialists for excellence in clinical practice and research.

Overview

This fellowship offers comprehensive training in the management of urologic malignancies, including kidney, prostate, bladder, testicular, penile, and adrenal cancers. Trainees participate in inpatient and outpatient care, perform surgeries, and engage in clinical trials and translational research. The program integrates clinical training, academic sessions, and research, with strong emphasis on multidisciplinary teamwork, minimally invasive techniques, and robotic-assisted procedures. Fellows are encouraged to publish research, contribute to teaching, and gain expertise in both surgical and non-surgical aspects of urologic oncology.

By the end of the fellowship, candidates will be able to:

Evaluate and manage the full spectrum of urologic cancers.

Understand the molecular mechanisms, pathology, and treatment modalities of urologic malignancies

Gain proficiency in open, minimally invasive, and robotic surgeries for GU cancers.

Provide multidisciplinary care integrating surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and supportive care.

The fellowship equips trainees with advanced knowledge and hands-on expertise in diagnosing and treating urologic cancers, combining surgical proficiency with research exposure and multidisciplinary care to prepare them for leadership in urologic oncology.
