The Fellowship in Medical Oncology is a one-year program that provides specialized training in hospital-based oncology, community oncology, and holistic cancer management. It prepares doctors to handle chemotherapy, oncologic emergencies, supportive care, and interdisciplinary teamwork, equipping them for clinical excellence and compassionate patient care.
Overview
This fellowship offers comprehensive exposure to medical oncology practice, blending academic learning, clinical rotations, and research. Trainees gain expertise in cancer biology, systemic oncology, chemotherapy, biotherapeutics, and advanced diagnostic tools. The program emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration with surgical, radiation, and palliative specialists, along with training in clinical trials, epidemiology, cancer prevention, supportive care, and emerging therapies like molecular treatments and immunotherapy. Graduates emerge as well-rounded oncologists capable of delivering holistic patient care, conducting research, and contributing to community-based cancer initiatives.
The objectives of the clinical training are:
To develop clinical judgment and technical skills in diagnosis and the total management of patientswith neoplastic diseases, with various modalities of treatment individually or in combination.
