Krishna Hospital and Medical Research Centre, Karad had a modest beginning with 200 beds hospital in one of the remotest areas in southern Maharashtra in the year 1982. Over the span of last 3 and a half decades the hospital has grown to an 1125 beds multi-specialty hospital. The hospital was accredited by NABH in the year 2016 and then reaccredited in the year 2019. The NABH accreditation has ensured that protocols are streamlined and as per internationally accepted best practises.

The hospital has state-of-the-art facilities with 100 super-specialty beds for Neurosurgery, Neurology, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Genito-Urinary Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Nephrology, Cardiology, and Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery. Specialized ICUs are available, namely Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, High Dependency Unit, Coronary Care ICU, CVTS ICU, Neonatal ICU, Pediatric ICU, Maternal ICU, and Cardiology ICU, occupying different sections with a total capacity of 112 beds.
Critical Care is a dedicated unit at the hospital, staffed with intensivists available 24×7. The Emergency Room is well-equipped and well-staffed, comprising 30 beds and a separate ICU with 6 beds. The hospital also has 40 private rooms, including 20 deluxe rooms and 20 super deluxe rooms/suites, designed to accommodate patients with varying needs and preferences.
There are 13 ultra-modern operation theatres with laminar airflow and 4 minor operation theatres for OPD patients. Krishna Hospital has been a pioneer in implementing a quality-driven culture within a teaching hospital, featuring an NABH-accredited blood bank with component facilities and a plasmapheresis unit. A well-equipped 20-bed NICU, accredited by NNFI, further enhances the hospital’s neonatal care services.

The Emergency Department (Casualty) has 30 beds with central oxygen, suction, and advanced resuscitative facilities. Six ICU beds are available for immediate critical care. After stabilization, patients are transferred to the respective inpatient wards or discharged with follow-up instructions. The unit operates 24x7, ensuring timely and efficient emergency response.
The Admission Office provides courteous and efficient services for patient registration and admission. All data is managed through the customized hospital software “Lifeline”, which enables real-time record management and departmental performance analysis. Various government healthcare schemes are also implemented through this office to support economically weaker sections.
The Outpatient Department (OPD) is strategically located near the hospital entrance for easy accessibility.
It includes consultation rooms for various specialties, supported by central facilities such as:
